Object. The authors evaluated the efficacy of cervical corpectomy, reconstruction with a graft and plating in patients with multiple spondylotic radiculopathy.Material and methods. Seventeen patients were operated on. Thirteen patients had a single corpectomy, 3 patients a single corpectomy and an inferior level discetomy and fusion, and 1 patient a double corpectomy. Clinical and radiographic outcomes were evaluated. The mean follow-up period was 22.2 months (6-48 months).Results. Clinical outcome was satisfactory in all but one patient (94.1%). Solid fusion was achieved in 14 patients (82.4%). A stable, fibrous union developed in 3 patients (17.6%). There were no cases of pseudoartrosis. Complications included dysphagia (2 patients) and posterior graft displacement (1 patient) requiring reoperationConclusions. Cervical corpectomy, fusion and plating is a sure and effective procedure in patients with cervical radiculopathy by compression at two or more levels.
