The label percentages are used as input in JmolScripter; assigning a color to each percentage value and overlaying the NMR structures of α-conotoxin GI with the percent labeling data. This gives a picture of where the most labeling is occurring along with several inferred explanations. The amino acids that underwent the most labeling are on the C-terminal tail of the peptide, whereas the amino acids that did not undergo very much labeling are on the N-terminal tail of the peptide and part of the α-helix. This was to be expected from the NMR and x-ray structures which show the C-terminus as more exposed to solvent while the N-terminus is held in the interior of the peptide by the disulfide bonds. This rigid structure explains the lower labeling in those areas.
