This paper reports on the outcome of a study to understand if and how students were studying in mobile contexts. It was also aimed at understanding their attitudes to the use of a Computerised Adaptive Test (CAT), specifically the Flexilevel test, in a mobile context. Interviews were carried out with ten participants to discuss their use of mobile technology, views of the Flexilevel approach and their view of taking a Flexilevel test being using a mobile device. Participants were positive about the Flexilevel test and also using it in a mobile context for formative assessment. The results are taken to provide support for the idea that students would accept formative Flexilevel tests in mobile contexts.
