Quality Improvement and Root Cause Analysis of Complex Systems in the Aerospace and Defense Industry can be truly a daunting task, simply because of the large number of components and processes involved. The system elucidated here uses special Six Sigma based Process Maps to root cause code and track the quality problems. It also incorporates an effective corrective action tracking technique to complement the root cause analysis. The paper also explains the successful implementation of this technique in a manufacturing environment producing a complex electro-mechanical device widely used in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
