As a condition with high prevalence and substantial morbidity and mortality, bladder cancer represents a disease process where quality improvement could play a major role in improving patient outcomes. Indeed, much work has been done to examine the quality of care provided to patients with bladder cancer. This quality of care can be assessed in three domains: non-muscle-invasive cancer, muscle-invasive cancer, and metastatic disease. Patients in these domains require vastly different care, resulting in different quality-of-care concerns.
