Cerebral Palsy (SP) is a disease affecting muscular tonus, motion and motor skills. It may also cause other health problems and learning difficulty including problems in seeing, hearing and speaking. In this study, a microprocessor-base system was designed to measure the pressure under the foot and to achieve symmetrical gait in patients with cerebral palsy. The system is made up of a 25 Ibs Flexiforce pressure sensor, dsPIC30F4013 microcontroller, 6004 integrated amplifier, RS-232 connector, integrated MAX 232, 10 MHz crystal oscillator and a computer. Pressure data were modeled at a rate of 20 Hz and transferred to the computer with the help of a serial port. This system ensures regular monitoring patients, administration of the required treatment and evaluation.
