This paper proposed an insight on how the e-learning system evolution can enhance higher education teaching methodology, which is an innovative approach for improving the current university's teaching environments for teachers and students. The core methodology used to enhance the higher education teaching environment is the service evolution approach in clouds proposed by Edinburgh Napier University, UK, which has been used as the foundation stone and platform for further analyzing the positive effects on higher education teaching based on the e-learning system evolution. This paper balanced software engineering and teaching methodology, which provides a new approach on the technology-enhanced modern University teaching reform, so that it shows the value for service-based e-learning system constructions, evolution and modern university teaching environment enhancement.
