摘要

A novel photochromic diarylethene with a (formyloxyethoxy)ethyl-linked naphthalimide unit has been synthesized. Its properties, including photochromic and fluorescent behaviors, have been investigated in solution. The compound exhibits remarkable photochromism, changing from colorless to blue after irradiation with UV light in solution. The cyclization/cycloreversion process of the compound is determined to be the zeroth/first order reaction.
