The heat washing paraffin technology which is used commonly in the current pumping oil wells has many weaknesses, such as influence of the oil production, long well drainage cycle, waste of energy, polluting the geology formation and etc., resulting in reduce of oil production. This article focuses on the weaknesses listed upon and puts forward improved measures. By injecting the steam heated into the well tubing casing annulus, the underground pipe column could be heated by the steam with high temperature. When the temperature exceeds the wax melting point, the wax will melt gradually. The steam will be pumped out of the wellbore, together with the produced fluid. Through the study of the steam washing application areas, the technical parameters of well washing are determined, and the site application analysis is made. Through the application of steam thermal washing, the wells drainage period is shortened to 3 days, the load of oil pumping machine is reduced, and the oil production is increased by 751 tons. The steam thermal washing technology could decrease damage to the geology formation, prolong the well production period and increase the oil production, which has great economic effects.
