For realizing hydrogen energy society, storing hydrogen as dense states is required for conventional storage and transportation. Lithium hydride is regarded as an attractive hydrogen storage material due to its high storage capacity. However 800 C of temperature for hydrogen release prevents its practical application. Recently, we found that composites of conjugated macromolecules with lithium hydride released hydrogen at the much lower temperature range from 250 to 300°C. In this presentation, hydrogen storage/release properties and mechanisms on these composites will be presented.
