For the Acme A furnace, these descriptions of furnace performance show: A productivity increase of 40 percent (1,036 TPD, to 8.8 TPD/CCF) without metallics additions when production is normalized to a scrap-free burden. When compared to the baseline condition in which scrap was charged to the furnace, the productivity increase is 22 percent (663 TPD).
