摘要

Microfluidics deals with the manipulation of small amounts of fluids (in the range of 10'9 and lower) through channels, chambers, valves and other components with dimensions of tens to hundreds of micrometers (1,2). This volume scale permits to control chemical reactions with unprecedented accuracy and to explore physical and physicochemical effects that are out of range or are difficult to attain in macroscopic world. Thus, traditional application fields for microfluidic systems include chemical analysis, biotechnology and medicine, where short reaction time, low volume of reagent, high accuracy and sensitivity, low waste, low cost and portability are very attractive. However, microfluidics is also attractive for other unexpected areas, like optics (3) and information processing (4).
