Differential spectral responsivity measurements give useful information on the performance of solar cells. The technique has been applied for the characterisation of a-Si:H and μc-Si:H cells. The dependence of the DSR on the type and thickness of the intrinsic layer, background illumination and front contact texture has been demonstrated and discussed.
