We studied the maximum aerobic capacity of animals under conditions of normobaric normoxia, after an acute exposure to hypobaric hypoxia corresponding to an altitude of 1500 and 2500 m and the influence of hypoxia on the O / AO balance. We chose these altitudes taking into consideration that in many European countries exist mountain resorts for leisure and performance sports at these altitudes.
