摘要

Application of the H_2/H_∞ftltering approach to the integrated GPS/INS navigation systems has seldom been treated yet in the literatures. The integrated GPS/INS navigation system design poses a good area of applications for the mixed H_2/H_∞ filter, which combines the best of both worlds and performs better than either a pure H_2 filter (also known as Redman filter) or a pure H_∞ filter. The hybrid approach not only takes advantage of the noise statistics knowledge that is inherent in H_2 filtering design, but also takes advantage of the robustness of H_∞filtering. Example will be provided to illustrate the relative trade-offs using the mixed H_2/H_∞ filtering schemes as compared to the H_2 and H_∞ approaches. In addition to estimation accuracy, the related estimation performance such as sensitivity to noise effects, peak error, and transient time, for the navigation solutions are discussed.
