The Hemispherical Resonator Gyroscope (HRG) has a few advantages in comparison with the other inertial-quality solid-state gyros, the ring laser gyro and fiber optic gyro. At the same time it has a few specific features, ignoring them leads to worsening of the HRG parameters or to complication and raising the price of technology. Some problems are bound up with the principle of operation of this gyro, others - with the HRG design and also with properties of resonator material. These problems are under discussion in this paper, some design and technological solutions are considered to decrease their influence on HRG operation.
