Weak formulations of mixed state equations including boundary conditions of laminated cylindrical shell are presented based upon the modified mixed variational principle. A new mixed displacement and stress based variational formulation involving thermal effects in cylindrical shells is established. An unified approach and three-dimensional solutions are obtained for closed laminated cylindrical shell with clamped edges subjected to mechanical loading and temperature variation. All equations of elasticity can be satisfied and all elastic constants can be taken into account. Numerical results are given to compare with those of FEM calculated using SAP5.
