摘要

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the current Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning curriculum. A survey instrument was developed and administered to all those who could be contacted who had graduated from the LAEP Department with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from 1985 through 1994. Graduates responded to a written questionnaire which asked them to evaluate the eleven major areas of the curriculum. The eleven areas were Graphics, Design, History (Landscape Architectural), Construction, Site Analysis, Function and Structure of the Built Environment, Planting Design, City and Regional Planning, Computer Literacy, Environmental Awareness, and Other Related Information. The evaluation responses were divided into two areas, skills that were necessary for employment as a landscape architect, and skills that they believed had upon graduation.;Graduate respondents were also categorized into seven specific career paths. These were identified as Landscape Architects, Government Employees, Design Build/Design Development, Architects/Engineers, Industry/Commerce, Education, and Other (those who had practiced landscape architecture, but who were currently employed outside the field).;The results indicated that the majority of graduates believed that they had been sufficiently educated in the landscape architectural field. Out of the eleven areas identified, the students believed they needed increased emphasis in City and Regional Planning, Computer Literacy, and Environmental Awareness.;It would appear that USU's LAEP curriculum is meeting the needs of the majority of its graduates. The results of this study could be useful in the development of a future curriculum.
