A novel manganese(Ⅱ) complex with 4-(p-methylphenyl)-3,5-bis(pyridin-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazole (L), [MnL2(NCS)2],has been synthesized and its structure characterized by X-ray crystallography,FT-IR and ESI-MS spectroscopy.In the structure there is an inversion center at the manganese(Ⅱ) atom which is octahedrally coordinated to four nitrogen atoms from two triaryltriazole ligands (L) and nitrogen atoms of two NCS- ions in a trans arrangement.Magnetic measurements show that the complex is high-spin species in the 75~300 K range.
