The eruption of the financial crisis in the Southeast Asia in July, 1997 greatly damaged the ASEAN's politics and economy and weakened its influence on the international stage. Under this circumstance, ASEAN was obliged to adjust its foreign policy. Therefore, we can say that the eruption of the financial crisis influxed new contents into the ASEAN' s foreign policy. This essay mainly formulates this adjustment.
