English and Chinese proverbs attach great importance to the sound effect, word selec-tion, language image and pattern matching. This article analyzes some rhetoric differences and charac-teristics between the English and Chinese proverbs from the viewpoint of rhythm beauty, concise beauty and vivid beauty.
