For the problem of low speed and accuracy of license plate recognition , a new license plate system is designed in this paper . HALCON is used as the core of machine vision and image processing software . The major work includes image acquisition , image preprocessing and the realization of the detection algorithm . Experiments demonstrate that the accuracy of license plate recognition can reach 94.6% during the day . The speed of identification is also improved relatively ,and the average recognition time of each license plate is 40.3 ms .%针对目前车牌识别速度较慢以及识别准确率较低的问题,以 HALCON作为机器视觉和图像处理核心软件,将计算机视觉检测技术应用于车辆牌照的识别,实现了图像采集、预处理和检测.实验结果表明,白天车辆牌照识别准确率达到94.6%;相对于传统方法,识别速度也有所改进,每幅牌照的平均识别时间为40.3 ms .
