English learning is crucial for minority college students in Southern Xinjiang to promote their comprehensive qualities and abilities to compete with international talents in the background of One Belt and One Road Initiative.Thus English education for minority college students in South Xinjiang should be paid more attention to.The essay analyzed the English learning motivation of minority college students and found out minority college students had strong English learning motivation;English learning motivation between students from different minorities had no significant difference;English learning motivation between male students and female students had significant difference;English learning motivation between preparatory course students and non-preparatory course students had no significant difference.In the end, the author proposed pedagogical implications and related suggestions.%"一带一路"背景下,南疆高校少数民族大学生英语知识的学习对其综合素养的提升及参与国际竞争能力的培养至关重要,南疆高校需重视少数民族学生的英语教育.本文对新疆南疆高校少数民族大学生英语动机进行分析,发现;少数民族大学生具有强烈的英语学习动机;不同少数民族学生间的英语学习动机无显著性差异;男生与女生间的英语学习动机存在显著性差异;预科生与非预科生间的英语学习动机不存在差异.最后,笔者提出相应的教学启示及建议.
