Revolving around a series of topics worthy of explo-ration about waistbands, this paper narrates the origin and devel-opment of waistbands, and emphatically analyzes the characteris-tics, types and functions of waistbands in the past dynasties. This paper takes the development of China's ancient history as a time-line, and China, Asia and the world as a regional scope. In the second half of the main body, it enumerates instances to highlight the decorative role of waistbands in clothing.
