Patron or demand-driven acquisitions (DDA) appears to be quite a hot topic in libraryland. Getting the information into the user's hands as quickly as possible has always been one of the pillars of good library service but, in today's age of instant gratification, "as quickly as possible" had better be immediate or very close to it. Stepping away from the print DDA aspect, there is a wonderful and very real opportunity to use e-books as a means to fulfill these "just in time" requests.
