摘要

ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2020, the Italian carrier was the first to introduce such procedures in a trial initially planned to last 30 days but later extended to January 31, 2021. Two flights (AZ2038 at 13:30 and AZ2092 at 17:20) out of the seven daily ones from FCO to LIN were dedicated to the trial, alongside two operated in the opposite direction (Flights AZ2039 at 10:00 and AZ2061 at 17:00). The Rome-Milan route had been chosen because it is operated with a high daily frequency, and thus provided alternatives to any passengers unwilling to take the required 90-minute antigene test for a flight that lasts less than an hour. "As we introduced the testing procedure, we noticed a 'diaspora' of some 20% of the passengers on the two flights originating at Linate," Marco Casarotto, Director of Operations SEA-Aeroporti di Milano, told Airways. "That's normal if you consider that, usually, a passenger flying between Milan and Rome arrives at the airport 30 or 40 minutes before departure time."
