The National Building Museum (NBM) was the site of the 1998 "National Engineers' Week" celebration in Washington, D.C. The co-chairs of this year's events were the Construction Specification Institute (this year's lead engineering society) and the Phillips Petroleum Company (representing the sponsoring industries). Throughout the United States, some 60 engineering societies and 40 corporations participate in state and local activities.
