ElectriFly continues to come up with new and innovative ways to keep aero modeling interesting. This time, with the Syncro EDF, they have created two unique planes in one platform. The Syncro comes with two wings that completely change the flight envelope of the plane, but more on that later. The landing gear is fixed, but can be easily removed at the field for hand launch and flights with a little less drag. The nosewheel doesn't steer, but this little plane is light enough that a blast of power from the EDF across the rudder is sufficient for rough steering on the ground. The neatest feature on this plane is the interchangeable wings. The EDF power unit sits atop the wing and is held in place with four magnets and a nylon 1/4x20 screw. It takes just a minute or two for me to swap the fan unit from one wing to the other and plug in a wing that changes the character of the plane completely. In one package, you get a floater that I would be very comfortable to use to train a beginner pilot (and is great for lazy Sunday floating) and a really zippy and aerobatic jet-like performer that will keep an intermediate pilot on their toes. With the faster sport wing advanced pilots will have fun pushing the envelope and finding out "what else can I get this thing to do?" Assembly is quick and simple, let's look at how quickly this bird can be assembled and flying.
