I first discussed the topic of unmanned air systems (UAS's) in this column in August 2014. The Federal Aviation Administration has published new proposed rules governing their use in the February 23, 2015 Federal Register and since many campuses, particularly those with aeronautical engineering programs are struggling how to control UAS's on campus, I thought the topic was worthy of another discussion.
