CIWM offers a variety of different grades of membership to suit different qualifications and experience. They can look a bit overwhelming at first so here's a rough guide to knowing which one may be right for you: Student Membership - For those who are studying a waste-related course part-time or full-time. If you're a full-time student, you can get the first year free too. Graduate Membership - For anyone with a degree who is working in the waste and resources industry. You can use the designatory letters "GradMCIWM" after your name. Licentiate Membership - For those with a degree and a post graduate waste-related qualification, such as a Masters degree, COTC or other vocational qualification, and with at least one year's experience working in the waste industry. You can use the designatory letters LCIWM after your name. Affiliate (Fast Track) Membership - This is open to anyone with an interest in waste and resources management and enables those who don't meet the criteria for the above grades to join CIWM. Remember though, this is an intermediate grade of membership and you are encouraged to transfer to another grade when you do meet the entry criteria.
