Environment Minister Lord Henley confirmed last month that it is officially time to celebrate following the Government announcement that the UK will meet its Landfill Directive diversion target for 2010. Data for England from the Environment Agency coupled with similar data from the devolved administrations shows that the UK will meet the 2010 landfill diversion target to reduce biodegradable municipal waste (BMW) to landfill.
