Greek letters are common in scientific texts. All the ω-3 fatty acids,TNF-α, interferon-γ, or μm are an annoyance for typing scientists.rnHere is how to assign + shortcut for inserting μ in Word:rn1. Go to Insert → Symbol → More symbolsrn2. Select font and the desired symbolrn3. Press the "Keyboard shortcut" buttonrn4. Press the combination of keys to be assigned for this symbol; we chose + rn5. Press the "Assign" button, and "Close" both dialogsrnBack in your document, press the shortcut combination you have just defined - + - and voila, μ appears! Of course the same strategy can be applied to other symbols as well.
