ThepaleontologicalsiteofFouvent-Saint-Andoche(Fouvent-le-Bas,Haute-Sa?ne,France)isalargeboneaccumulationinakarsticcontextknownsincetheearlynineteenthcentury.Thisarticlefocusesontheanalysisof14977remainsfromboththehistoricalcollection(excavationsin1842)andthematerialoftherecentexcavations(1989–1992).Afaunallistof18/19largemammalspecieshasbeenestablished:12carnivores(Crocutacrocutaspelaea(Goldfüss,1832),Panthera(Leo)spelaea(Goldfüss,1810),UrsusspelaeusRosenmülleramp;Heinroth,1794,CanislupusLinnaeus,1758,VulpesvulpesLinnaeus,1758,cf.Alopex,GuloguloLinnaeus,1758,MelesmelesLinnaeus,1758,Martessp.,MustelaeversmaniiLesson,1827,Mustelasp.)andseven/eightungulates(MammuthusprimigeniusBlumenbach,1799,Coelodontaantiquitatis(Blumenbach,1799),MegalocerosgiganteusBlumenbach,1799,CervuselaphusLinnaeus,1758,Rangifertarandus(Linnaeus,1758),EquusgermanicusNehring,1884,BosprimigeniusBojanus,1827and/orBisonpriscusBojanus,1827).Thepalaeontologicalanalysisallowsustocharacterizetheevolutionarystagerelatedtoeachspeciesandtocommenttheirbiochronologicalsignificance.Thedetailedstudyofparticularspecies,suchasC.c.spelaea,E.germanicus,orC.antiquitatisimprovesourknowledgeonspeciesassociationsandtheirimplicationinLatePleistocenehyenadens.
