Objective: To study the evaluation value of HMGA2, Tiam1 and Notch1 expression forcancer cell proliferation, invasion and epithelial-mesenchymal transition in non-small celllung cancer tissue. Methods: Non-small cell lung cancer tissues and para-carcinoma tissuessurgically removed in our hospital between May 2013 and December 2015 were collected,immunohistochemical staining method was used to determine HMGA2, Tiam1 and Notch1protein expression, and fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to determine the mRNAexpression of HMGA2, Tiam1, Notch1 as well as proliferation, invasion and epithelialmesenchymaltransition molecules. Results: HMGA2, Tiam1 and Notch1 mRNA expressionand positive protein expression rate in lung cancer tissues were significantly higher than thosein para-carcinoma tissues (P0.05); E-cadherin mRNA expression in lung cancer tissues withpositive HMGA2 expression was significantly lower than that in lung cancer tissues withnegative HMGA2 expression (P0.05) while N-cadherin and Vimentin mRNA expressionwere significantly higher than those in lung cancer tissues with negative HMGA2 expression(P0.05); MMP2, MMP3, MMP8 and MMP9 mRNA expression in lung cancer tissues withpositive Tiam1 expression were significantly higher than those in lung cancer tissues withnegative Tiam1 expression (P0.05); CyclinD1, Bcl-2 and Survivin mRNA expression in lungcancer tissues with positive Notch1 expression were significantly higher those in lung cancertissues with negative Notch1 expression (P0.05). Conclusions: Highly expressed HMGA2,Tiam1 and Notch1 in lung cancer tissues can regulate the epithelial-mesenchymal transition,invasion and proliferation of cancer cells respectively.
