In the Cadence environment, the generic software adapter is an adapter used to connect to and control embedded software. It allows the verification environment to control both the hardware design and the software running on the CPU.rnFor communication between software and the verification environment, the generic software adapter uses a shared mailbox memory that is located somewhere in the memory map already defined and modeled in the system-on-chip (SoC).
