摘要

The treatment of axisymmetry as a particular case of three-dimensional problems has made it possible to extend previous work on infinite boundary elements to the analysis of axisymmetric halfspace problems. A condensation process is then developed which can considerably reduce the dimensions of system matrices and computational time. Typically the speed-up is more than twelve. Illustrative results for benchmark problems demonstrate the potential of the proposed method.
