The Interior Department is reducing the potential cost of development on federal land and promoting energy development by rescinding some Obama administration guidelines on how to minimize or compensate for environmental impacts, including climate change. Interior Deputy Secretary David Bernhardt issued Order 3360 on Dec. 22 to rescind three sets of guidelines on how to go about applying the protections of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and rescinding one set of guidelines of climate policy.
