In a call-to-action following passage of criminal justice reform, SHRM helped launched an initiative under which employers pledge to give opportunities to qualified people with criminal backgrounds. On January 27, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) announced a national initiative under which associations and companies representing more than 60 percent of the U.S. workforce have already committed to changing their recruiting practices to include those with criminal backgrounds.
