There is wide recognition amongst hydrographic surveyors that a sound working knowledge of errors is the key to maintaining high professional standards. In light of fast-changing technology, increasing reliance on automation and growing pressure to reduce training courses, it is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve and maintain this level of knowledge without some form of Aide Memoire.
