The Israel Defence Force (IDF) is increasing the tempo of training regimes for its ground forces and procuring new weapon systems as the country prepares for the possibility that a future war will be fought on multiple fronts, according to the commander of the IDF's army HQ, Major General Sami Turjeman.rnGen Turjeman was appointed to the post in September 2009 and, at 46 years old, is the youngest member of the IDF's General Staff. He has overseen the implementation of lessons that the IDF learnt from its last two major military conflicts, which included the 2006 war against Hizbullah in Lebanon and Israel's anti-Hamas operation, which took place between December 2008 and January 2009.
