How does one turn the herd roughly south, changing the actions of thousands of people dispersed across many organizational units and geographies? With difficulty for sure. Nevertheless, a corporate aspiration may be an important first step. A corporate aspiration is a compelling statement of what the company aspires to become and reflects a view of the future. Sometimes it exists informally in the heads of a few, often it is a formal statement that can be quoted and repeated. It provides a rationale for action.
