Europhoenix boss Glenn Edwards has reacquainted himself with a memory from his childhood trainspotting days, with the successful purchase of 08629, which is to become the Pilot locomotive at UK Rail's Leicester Depot. Managing director Glenn purchased the locomotive in early June and it was moved by road from Chinnor to Knighton Junction, where it was collected by a pair of Class 20s for tripping over to Leicester Depot, in a move organised by DCR.He became a young trainspotter in the late 1970s when the Edwards family moved close to Bletchley, which became an important station for Glenn as he went to spot the 'roarers' on the West Coast Main Line. Whilst there, he often saw 08629 on pilot duties in and around the station, even cabbing' it on a few occasions when a kindly driver spotted the enthusiastic youngster.
