Over the past two decades, the recycling industry has seen a massive shift in many communities from dual-or multi-stream collection of curbside recyclables to single-stream programs we increasingly see today. In the past several months, we have seen some cities dip their toe into what's being touted as the "one bin" system - no separation of recyclable materials is needed, simply throw everything into the trash and let someone else sort it out.
