In this part of a two-part series we continue to pursue the theme surrounding the question "Can we integrate with our past and carry on from there? " Apart from relationships to the seemingly 'mundane' concerns of modern scientific enquiry, ancient Indians made incomparable contributions to what can be broadly titled as 'Linguistics' a subject that has faced near-total neglect - apart from ideas borrowed from Western sources - in the Indian educational system. Short descriptions of the topics related to ancient Indian analytical thinking in linguistics are given. While trying to answer the question "How can these topics be included in text-books so that the educated sensitive Indian is made aware of her/his heritage? " is left to the reader it is suggested that information-leads supplied here (and in the earlier article) should provide a template for material that needs to be included in the appropriate places in textbooks used in the educational system, a matter that is just about absent or even actively suppressed in the system now in practice.
