摘要

It is my genuine pleasure to discuss this paper because I find it a true gold-mine of striking results. Professor Lai has masterfully brought out in the open some of the incredibly far-reaching roles that these likelihood ratio identities continue to play. Obviously, the early investigations took off in many directions that began with Wald's Fundamental Identity of Sequential Analysis. I congratulate Professor Lai for perpetuating and enriching Wald's legacy in a way that is so unique and pretty.
