摘要

I would like to congratulate Professor Lai on his insightful and comprehensive description of the road map of developments in the field of sequential analysis inspired by Wald's "fundamental identity". The paper gives a brief review of applications of likelihood ratio identities in two-hypothesis testing and change-point problems, and summarizes Professor Lai's impressive contributions to the field. Two other directions are slightly neglected in his presentation and I would like to expand on this.
