Course Objective: EbD-TEEMS Nxt Gen Grade 5, "Our Water, Our World," engages learners in hands-on inquiry and design as they explore one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century: universal access to clean water. By utilizing an experimental approach, students collaboratively investigate global water issues and learn that stewardship and innovation can make a difference in solving the world's problems. Context: Home Water Usage engages learners in hands-on inquiry and design as they explore this challenge. Water is used in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, personal usage, generating power, and irrigating crops. Americans use over 400 trillion gallons of water a day. Water usage not only varies from one state to another in the United States but also from one home to another. Families use water for personal hygiene, washing dishes and clothing, flushing toilets, drinking, and for recreation. This challenge will give students an in-depth look at how water is used in the United States.
