What does the future hold for traditional "liberal arts" education and for "technical" education—in particular the STEM disciplines?The antithesis between a technical and a liberal education is fallacious. There can be no adequate technical education which is not liberal, and no liberal education which is not technical (Whitehead, 1932, p.74).The classics certainly have the history of the world to call upon to justify their existence and relevance.
