The Obama Administration is defending its fiscal 2010 defense budget request on Capitol Hill after rolling out I plans that call for serious restructuring in some major defense programs but overall would be a boost for many unmanned systems.rnOne of the biggest changes is to the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems, a planned network of manned and unmanned systems, including unmanned aerial and ground vehicles. The budget request basically leaves the unmanned systems as the last ones standing; it removes all of the planned manned vehicles due to concerns about how well suited they would be to fighting the types of insurgencies seen in Iraq and Afghanistan (the Army plans to quickly redesign its suite of manned vehicles).
