摘要

We thank Finsterle [2006] for his comments and take the opportunity to discuss several issues he raised related to our recent work on prediction of seepage into subterranean cavities in fractured rock [Or et al, 2005]. Finsterle [2006] also took the opportunity to describe the continuum approach from his perspective and cite more recent literature, some of which was not publicly available when the article by Or et al. [2005] was written. In reading the work of Or et al. [2005], it should be clear that Finsterle's [2000] data were used as a metric to discuss features of the new model. This response focuses on several aspects that we believe are the key issues mentioned by Finsterle [2006].
